1966
The answer to the Mustang
Developed under the code name βPantherβ, the Camaro was unveiled in September 1966 as a 1967 model, on GM's new F-body platform.
1967β1969
1st generation
Coupe and convertible, with packages that became legends: RS (Rally Sport, with hidden headlights), SS (Super Sport) and the Z/28, created for Trans-Am racing.
1970β1981
2nd generation
Launched in February 1970, with longer, lower lines inspired by European sports cars. It is the longest-running Camaro generation. From 1978 on it got body-colored bumpers β the look of our 1980 RS.
1982β1992
3rd generation
Lighter and more modern, with a glass hatchback and fuel injection. The highlight is the IROC-Z, named after a drivers' championship.
1993β2002
4th generation
Rounded body lines and, from 1998, the all-aluminum LS1 V8. Production ended in 2002.
2010β2015
5th generation: the comeback
After a concept shown in 2006, the Camaro returned with a retro design inspired by the 1969 model β and became a movie star as Bumblebee.
2016β2024
6th generation
Lighter and more agile, on the Alpha platform. Versions such as the ZL1 and ZL1 1LE took performance to new heights. Production ended in late 2023, with the last 2024 models.
